Marco Oliverio

UNDERGRADUATE THESIS STUDENT

Marco Oliverio is an undergraduate student in the Dason Lab currently completing his Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences. For his undergraduate thesis, Marco is investigating the role of Fragile X Mental Retardation Protein (FMRP) in nociception using Drosophila melanogaster as a model. His project examines age-related changes in thermal nociceptive responses in FMRP mutants with the goal of better understanding how FMRP contributes to the regulation of nociceptive behaviour. In his free time, Marco enjoys playing the guitar and spending time with his dog.
