Niha Sohail

HBSc. Biology for Health Sciences and Psychology (University of Toronto Mississauga)

Niha is currently pursuing her MSc in the Dason Lab where her research focuses on the role of the Oxysterol-Binding Protein (OSBP) in synaptic development and neurotransmission at the neuromuscular junction using Drosophila melanogaster. Niha completed her HBSc in 2024 at the University of Toronto Mississauga, double majoring in Biology for Health Sciences and Psychology. During her undergraduate studies, Niha did her undergraduate thesis in the Stewart Lab on the neuromuscular junction in Drosophila where she developed an interest in the cellular mechanisms influencing synaptic plasticity.

In her free time, Niha enjoys writing, origami, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and parrot, Tuffy.
